Living in a gated community does not necessarily guarantee privacy or quiet. It is important to find out the profile of the other residents in the community. Some communities are designed and marketed to families with children , while others are popular with retirees and are more quiet.
Most communities have houses built very close to each other. Unless you have a high wall around your house you will not have much privacy. If you want quiet, the best choice is a community of retirees and/or one with very strict homeowner association rules.
